i mite do this even tho i gt a 16 gig... how deep should the needle go? also I'm sure that if a drop of water gets in ur screwed. Once when i had a 4gig my phone was literrally inside a snowball and it survived, so this might destroy its waterproofness

Not waterproof as much as moisture reduction. The screen keeps moisture from getting it. That includes humidity.

Folks, be smart about this fix.

Goto ebay and buy the tool for opening the iphone case. Then remove the antenna cover and puncture the foam (or remove it 100%)

The tool costs $5 to $6, There also videos out there showing how to use it.

I removed mine 100% .. Now its so loud ... especially the speaker phone , its finally loud enough to use ...

well done dont know if you can help.I had version 1.02 originally my nephew messed around with software and it crashed, but when visiting states recently on biz .I got a guy to jailbreak it and upgrade to 1.13. I am currently using itunes 7.6. My problems are
(1) wont sync now it keeps saying It does not recognise phone" however it worked once as i have my contacts and it downloaded half ny music and timed out however next day all music had disappeared ... contacts still their
(2) I cannot use installer to download any app it says needs firmware 1.1 (im afraid to atart messing with it again)

any help would be greatly appreciated as im lost without my music !!

Well, I've rammed a pin into my brand new iphone and haven't had much success. I think it's a 04.0213_G (does that makes sense? I have no idea!) I'm very old and decrepit and I've missed just about every phone call so far due to my knackered old ears. I've just found this wonderful site and I'm going to see if there's any ringtones available for d/l that are like a jet taking off or something.

i agree a pic with instuctions would be nice, I wouldnt want to screw up my 400 dollar phone with a few needle poke's i would be devistated, :-(( please a video on youtube or something, because my volume DOES need to be increased. Has anyone tried that volume fix were you change the phone directory or something and instead of 4.99999 you change it to 9.999999 so that it's using all the phone volume capaicty..... seen it but was wondering if it would work or blow the phones speakers

I poked through the middle holes but not even deep and no sound from my speaker. If I punctured the speaker then what would I need to replace. I looked in the ifix.com site for parts but don't know which one. Can anyone shed some light on this issue.
