    First, welcome to MMi. For future reference, please use the search function to seek out answers before creating a new thread. To answer your Q, f/w from 1.1.1 and up has Video-Out capabilities, however, starting with the new line up of iPods (Classic, Nano, Touch and iPhone) there has been a 'lock-out' chip implemented that requires new 'certified' accessories for video by Apple. So the short is that the iPhone is capable of outputting video, but you have to buy a $50 cable from Apple to connect to monitor/TV.
