Smile Why Do Iphone sell For So Much On Ebay...
DOes any one know why people buy iphones on ebay for so much. when they can get them off the apple site?

They are selling on ebay for about $500+, and you can get them cheaper form At&T or apple.

    Because they are unlocked.

The only phones I see selling for $500+ are hacked/unlocked phones. Check out the completed listings.

First of all the price of the iPhone in euros(399) = $585 USD
    GBP(269) = $554

The smart people over in Europe are purchasing in USD and since they can not purchase direct from apple US they jump on www.ebay.com and not .co.uk or .de or .fr. Not rocket science.

Now, the Americans who are purchasing on ebay.COM are...yes, DUMB!

I agree. The people who are able to purchase the iPhone off of the US Apple store, but choose to go on eBay are idiots. Though, if you want to buy a new iPhone that is unlocked, as of now, it can only be done through eBay, as it is not currently possible to unlock an OTB 1.1.2 (At least as far as I've seen). The funny thing is that sealed 1.1.2 iPhone's sell on eBay for well over MSRP! I want to do this, purchase them and then sell them on eBay, but I would need a supplier, which, is a middleman. I'd want to get direct, but I don't know how.

Bottom line: There is money to be made off of iPhones on eBay!
