Send one SMS, people receive many

I'm aware that if I send a really long SMS, the message is broken up in several smaller messages (at least with my phone company). I thought this process was done by the phone company.

I'm starting to think that the breaking up the sms comes from the phone. I got my iphone a week ago, I used to have a Samsung. Now I write a sms couple of lines long, and the other person receives 3 or even 4 sms, like 5 words a message!!!

Does anyone knows about this?? Can it be fixed?

hi there, i have the same problem, depending on the number of characters of the sms, of course less than 150, the iphone sends one, two or even 3 sms's instead of just one, and the receiver gets 3 messages but broken ones, and with spaces between characters, like "h e l l o".

what i did was reset the iphone (itunes reset, like a format) and worked fine again, but then i installed some cydia and itunes store apps and the problem starts again, so if someone knows what's the app that is the problem, or what to do to correct this please Help!
