I've noticed that if I have more than 85 native apps (including the 17 that Apple provided) -- that's five full Springboard pages plus 1 more app -- then Springboard hangs on the Apple logo screen and won't launch. The only solution at that point is to ssh into the phone and trash one of the apps, and then the phone boots.
Now, of course, 85 is a big boatload of apps. I had neglected to delete anything I ever tried (including all of the iappaday.com stuff). Still I'd rather not be limited if there's a workaround.
So has anyone else experienced this issue? Is there a solution?

I currently have 113 apps showing on springboard, all installed on the media drive. No problems here.

I use installer on 1.1.1 and the Applications folder at root, and about 38 apps, all through installer, no hanging at all, once in a while I get the "need to free up disc space" warning, but thats the worst I've ever gotten. I'm sort of wary to make another sym link, as that can have issues far worse...
