How would ATT Know???

I have the v3xx now the high speed razr and the data plan to match, so when I buy the 3G iphone why should I change my data plan and how would they know which phone I am using if I don't tell them? I didn't get the 1st iphone because of edge.

i dont kno if you are already paying the same it prob wont matter. You will just have to renew a contract. But some how they kno when i tkae my sim and put in another phone, i cant even get on AIM any more. it was weird i could for a couple of weeks, than boom nope no data for other phone. Thats my 2 cents

when you put your sim into the phone and turn it on, it registers with the network and sends your IMEI number. that's how they can see what phone you're using. there's been talks of both AT&T and Apple store requiring in-store activation, so if that's true, there's no getting away with not signing up for an iPhone plan...
