Is having a screen protector a MUST HAVE ???
I had 2 so far and I hate the bubbles. I cannot get rid of them no matter how hard try. I came to the point of taking it off and not use the screen protector.
I also hate the way fingerprints stay on it. Very sticky and ugly looking.
If I use iPhone without screen protectors will I get any scratches on it even if I protect the phone as much as possible.

Simply put, as long as you're somewhat careful with it, then no.
I've never used one for about 6 months, and my phone has absolutely no scratches on the screen... It's really resistent to that kind of stuff.
Here you go, just for you. [ame="http://youtube.com/watch?v=czCCavcnNd8"]http://youtube.com/watch?v=czCCavcnNd8[/ame]Last edited by ALL DAY; 06-01-2008 at 12:12 PM.

You don't need a screen protector, ALL DAY is right, I had one since they first came out and no scratches at all on the screen. I also have not been babying my phone to make sure scratches didnt get on it.

I bought "Invisible Shield" which went on flawlessly with it's special applicator and "water".
However, over the last 7 months it's collected dirt in between the various sticky bits where they fit together. I've just removed all bar the screen protector and my iPhone still looks as if it's just come out of the box. I didn't realise how yellow the "shield" had become over the last few months until now, but I'd certainly think about buying it again as my iPhone lives amongst my keys & loose change when in my pocket, and chucked in the centre console of my car when I'm working.

I use the antiglare film set for the iphone as my screen protector. The trick that I use is to simply put a thin layer of water on the phone before applying the screen protector. Then apply heat to the screen and let it sit for a couple of hours. No bubbles this way! The bubbles should come out in 72 hours even if you didn't use this method, what screen protector are you using?

I haven't used a screen protector since I got the phone and no scratches at all. Heres tip: Do not put your phone in the same pocket as you put your keys, instead I place it alone in a separate pocket. Its been over 5months and not a single scratch
So conclusion: You do not need a screen protector.

Same here.
I've had my iPod since October with no screen protectors and no scratches whatsoever...
I hate invisibleShield... IMO it's a waste of money

I dont know, but you may be installing it wrong? I've put them on my ipod, and both my iphones w/o a single bubble, or problem. The way i do it, and it works perfect for me, is start by putting the very top on, all the way across, and instead of putting the whole protector down @ once, kind of roll it on from the top down. It eliminates any bubbles, and you can get it on nice and straight that way. I've even just put a mirrired screen protector on, and those will really show mess-ups, but if you do it the way I said, it'll be perfect.
I even got a screen protector, and cut it to fit, and put it on the back case of the iphone. It protects it amazingly, and you cabt even tell its there. Just something to think about....it'll save all those scratches normally gotten from daily use.

depends.
I've always had a screen protector, but the annoying bubbles and dirt being caught under the protector drove me insane.
So now i think im better off without. Sure the screen gets smudgy, but thats what the cleaning cloth is for!myRepoSpace.com - Easily create your own Cydia Repo.
