Why not custom firmware ?

first of all sorry for my english.

i was just thinking that why the iphone hacker community (osx programmer) make thier custom firmware. in which all the cool apps, games, utilties are develop.

as you can look to psp devhook is making custom firmware ...
not all custom but mixup of all firmwares. .

this will be cool for us.

This would be pretty cool.
But I'm sure Apple did a much better job at making their firmware harder and more complex then Sony did.

all noobs will be fine in future because custom firmware will not ask for
activation, jailbreak anysim or IPSF blah blah blah
all these are very messy things and if something go wrong "RESTORE" is done to iphone and then it will start from beginning.

the guys behind devhook dont need to work on it anymore cos they are the creators of the custom firmware that runs just about everything
