Hi as it says above there is no option for me to change any edge settings on my iphone. I goto

Settings → General → Network

and i have WIFI, Data Roaming and VPN.

I have a 1.1.2 uk iphone with an O2 PAYG sim. I have looked around the forum and the net but all i find is the settings for edge, not any solutions to my problem.

I'm guessing a restore might work but i don't really want to restore as i have my iphone setup the way i want it. There must be a way of doing it using ssh and editing some file.

I just fixed it!!!! It looks like we messed up at the end of the jailbreak when we put the new lockdownd file into /usr/libexec. If you did what I did, you deleted the native file and copied the new one in. If so, try restoring and jailbreak again and this time overwrite the file. hope this helps, I fixed it by luck I think.

I reckon the restore fixed the problem, i don't think it was coz u overwrote the file this time instead of deleting then copying the new one over.

Thanks anyway, but would prefer to find a way without having to restore,

I tried a restore a few time and it didn't work. When I overwrote the file it did.

Ok thanks, well i backed up my original lockdownd anyway and so i replaced that, then tryed overwriting with the modified one but it didnt work.

I also have the same problem no EDGE settings, Someone said to me that you cant get EDGE on PAYG just GPRS. Not sure if this is true or not.

Yes maybe but surely the option should show. So how do you insert the gprs settings then? also DarwinThorne managed to fix the problem using a restore of the iphone.

Ok have found out how to do this after scoring the Web and can now use GPRS and EDGE where available on PAYG.

I've verified that the problem is the lockdownd in /usr/libexec. I would think that you should be able to put the original file in and then overwrite it with the modified and it would work. For some reason, unless you do a restore and re-jailbreak it doesn't. So unless you've found another way to get EDGE back I would suggest a restore and then overwrite the lockdownd file. Hope it helps.

you can only see the edge setting if a Sim is inserted. without a Sim u dont see it.

I have a sim inserted and i don't see the settings. By the way the info on the link works to an extent. I have a connection now and it works fine. However i still don't see the option for edge in the settings.
