Help! iPhone does not charge or connect via cable/cradle!

Hi everyone,

Last night I plugged my iPhone into the cable I use with a wall charger every night - it started charging as it always does. A few seconds later it suddenly stopped charging (as if I had unplugged it). I didn't think anything of it, and left it overnight. This morning I saw that it had not charged at all. I tried putting it into the cradle - same thing; no charging, no connecting to iTunes.

I looked at the pins and it doesn't appear that any are bent or there is any damage. Rebooting the phone did not help.

Any ideas?

I should mention that yesterday I was getting "Call Failed" for most of the day, and people said they had trouble getting through to me ("phone shut off sounds").

Just shut off the iPhone and let it sit there for a few minutes. Then I placed it in the cradle (still shut off), and the apple logo came up, it booted up. BUT, it's still not charging or connecting to iTunes . Bah!

Sorry 'bout that, looked around but didn't find a more appropriate forum than General... Didn't think this fit the modding category, since, technically, I'm not modding anything , but if you say so...

Still no luck

Can't restore the phone to a backup since it won't connect to iTunes, and can't even load recovery mode! No matter which guide I follow or what I do, it WON'T open recovery mode!

It seems I'm missing a lot of calls, too. People call but the phone never actually shows the call.

I'm having the same issue. I've tried everything. My computer wont recognize it, and iTunes, doesn't recognize it either. The wall charger doesn't work, I've tried three different outlets. Help me! I've been without my iPhone since May because my battery corroded. I was so excited when I got the replacement battery, I could use the phone, but then this happened. What can I do? Or try?

Wow i have the exact same problem except for the order of events. At first my phone wouldn't recognize any connection via USB wire, wall charger and comp.
Now it seems as though the battery suddenly depleted completely.

I thought i was the only one, scary to see how common this issue is.
Did everyone here jailbreak their phone? If so, I'll hesitate to do it again if i get a new phone.

Try uninstalling everything iTunes related on your computer and then reinstall iTunes again. Your phone should then be recognized and a restore might help.

OK to all of u guys, this is the 30 bin connector issue.

U have to replace the socket with a new one, its about 24USD

seems to be the only answer for that problem
