newbie unlocking iPhone

i'm complete newbie with unlicking iPhones as thi is the first one
i have one but i already got it unlocked
so how do i unlock iPhone with iLiberty+
do i need to put my sim card in or do i have to unlock it without sim card or with AT&T sim card??

i tried search and google but no luck
and also i'm in hurry

I don't think it matters I have been successful in unlocking iPhones with AT&T sim, T-Mobile sim, and No sim

ok i unlocked it jailbreak it and activate it
but now it seem there is no reception
maybe it's due to poor quality signal arround here
but just in case there is something wrong with the phone now
what could be the problem

also my installer doesn't work wi-fi connection is good i can browse on safari but if i try to install some app. from installer it says downloading falied

and itunes doesnt play music

i used iLiberty+ to unlock it and i have 1.1.4 version
