After the phone went black for a while, I finally held both buttons so that the logo appeared.

Now it's just sitting there, is there anything I can do besides restoring?

Connect your iPhone to a USB cable, and open up ZiPhone. If you dont already have ZiPhone Installed, install it from ZiPhone.org.

Anyways, open it up, and press the "normal mode" button.

This will load your iPhone in normal mode.

Tell me if it works or not.

mine did this today after doing my installer updates..damnit

it took about 3-4 minutes but as I was searching the net for answers it finally came back up

I actually am having the same problem at the moment. I installed a program off installer, it froze, i force restarted my iphone, and now its in the apple logo screen with the circle loading icon in the middle keeps spinning. When i plug it into the computer, it begins to vibrate every like 15 seconds, and then it will stop eventually for a short period of time, and then repeat that process. Is the only way to fix this reboot my phone?

I was facing the same situation - turn on the phone, Apple logo for a while, then the refresh spinner starts, right under the logo. Phone hangs like that forever.

I was able to fix my issue. Here's a link to my post, with my solution:

Unfortunately, you may end up having to restore the phone, but at least you'll have the phone working, right? You might try my steps on your normal computer (as opposed to using someone else's). The SIM card thing might help.
