Checking Voice Mails Remotely?

The visual voice mail thing is great, but with my old cell phones - I wasn't always able to have my cell right on me so I would check my cell phone voice mails via my home phone by dialing my voice mail number and putting in my pin. I was wondering if there is a similar way to remotely check the voice mails on your iphone, just in case I don't have my phone on me but I'm expecting a call. Thanks for any help.

The way I do it is from a land line or another cell phone I call my cell phone, wait till it goes into voicemail and then press * when you hear your voicemail begin. It will ask for your password and you can then listen to your voicemails.

You can also use the call forwarding option...
