Default iPhone Not Recognized by My Computer after Unlock
    Hello all,

I was hoping someone could help me with a problem I'm having.

After unlocking my iPhone, my computer no longer recognizes it. The following message pops up in a yellow bubble:

"One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and windows does not recognize it. For assistance in solving this problem, click this message."

Anyone have any idea of what I can do about this? I tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes... no luck. Also, I know it's not a USB hardware problem because I get the same error on three different computers. Also, I've tried two different cables, with no luck.

    Please help.

I unlocked it for use on T-Mobile. Can you elaborate on what/how to restore? Are you sure what you have in mind will work? I ask because the phone isn't being recognized by my computer at all. This isn't just a problem of it not being detected in iTunes. Windows isn't allowing the device to be detected either.

Try syncing with a different computer with itunes already installed on it.

Already tried on three different computers. A compaq laptop, an hp laptop, and a custom-built desktop.
Any additional ideas? Please take a look to read my first post. Crucial details/descriptions of what I've already done are there.

Hello, I'd like to know if you were able to solve the problem?? I'm actually having the exact same trouble with an iPhone that was unlocked (not really sure how).

    Thanks

Best to go into the general settings of the phone and hit erase and restore. it'll take 2 hours.
