Windows Mail = Outlook Express
It's been confirmed that iPhone will sync with Outlook and Outlook Express. But since Outlook Express has been dropped on Vista, I'm wondering if iPhone will sync with Windows Mail which replaced Outlook Express.
Anybody want to venture an answer here?

It might be a Xp-hone if they had not introduced vista, Or a Longhorn- phone or a Astalavista-phone with touch keypad and watch screen.

Even though Windows mail replaces Outlook Express on Vista, its not available as one of the sync options from within iTunes. So i'm going to venture a guess that no, it won't sync with WinMail, though we're also not supposed to be able to get custom ringtones on it...so maybe some intrepid person out there will figure it out. (And i imagine that someone out there will say that the answer to his problem is to just get a mac

Being an early adopter and someone who builds and provides support on PCs but can't do an f-ing thing on a Mac I really fail to see Vista as an OSX rip off. Just face it there are Mac people, Windows people and other. I'm Windows and some other. And my computer has been a little acting odd since I brought this rogue iPhone into the house too.
Yes on my Vista machine iTunes offers to sync form Outlook or Win Mail. It does NOT offer to sync with Thunderbird. The Bastards.....
Oh it should be noted that at this point in time iTunes is NOT compatible with 64 bit Vista. I can not sync my phone at work where I have 64, but at home it works fine on 32 bit. I am having some issues learning iTunes though.Last edited by WindsorFox; 07-20-2007 at 11:33 PM.

Thats odd, i use vista business at work and windows mail doesn't come up as one of the options for syncing, only outlook. Maybe its because i don't have any accounts set up under windows mail.

Even more odd since I had never even opened Outlook or WinMail when I installed iTunes and first hooked up the phone, it still offered to sync to either WinMail or Outlook. My default was also set to Thunderbird. I finally broke down and setup Outlook 2007 solely for the contacts part just so I could type everything in on a normal keyboard and scootch it to the phone. This is Vista Ultimate, but that shouldn't make a difference.
