No Edge Settings
Bought the iphone today and unlocked it and jailbroke it and I set up the wi-fi now I go to use it and it says theres no service because its looking for the Edge but when I go to disable Edge theres no settings under General>Network to disable it plus I can install apps due to lack of wi-fi...what to do?
O2 PAYG sim card btw.

If you're using a legit O2 iPhone it's likely you've been locked out of making any modifications to your EDGE settings, like AT&T does in the States. There's a setting in a plist that will allow you to see and edit your EDGE settings, but I must wait until I get home to fetch them. Will let you know.

Ok, SSH into your phone and go to:
/var/root/Library/Preferences
then open (you may need to convert to text) com.apple.carrier.plist
You'll see a heading key: AllowEDGEEditing and under it false/
Change this to true/ then save and reboot. You'll be set to go.Get "iPod & iTunes for Dummies", it'll change your life.
