And what if the new version of iPhone comes out, are you stuck with your old one, since you have already bought two - one for yourself and your lady friend, for example??
Ridiculous, I hope it will not come down to this.

This was done to stop people buying up a bunch of iPhones and reselling them on eBay and other places. Apple is really clamping down. They have even stopped servicing phones unless you have a legitimate AT&T service contract. You'd think the iPhone was the cure to cancer or something.

I may only buy one iPhone in my lifetime. And no further Apple products, the way they're treating their customers.

Just means the value of our unlocked iPhone will go up on Ebay.

Cash and fake IDs should solve that problem.

When I was in the store, I saw someone bought 5 phones for his family. You do not have to be a reseller and you do not have to resell them and you can do whatever you want, just one extra piece of paper you need to fill out. A strange policy but really no big deal.

i mentioned before that in previous thread, and there I shared my well working way around this stupid/non sense policy of Apple. here is the link. And again IT IS NOT AN ADVERTISE by any means.
