    Default iPhone louder than others?
My nephew just got an iPhone for his birthday and I noticed that the ring tones & text alerts are much louder on his iPhone than mine. We are using the same firmware, the only difference is mine was bought on the first day the iPhone was released. I did a full restore on my phone thinking that might fix the problem, but after the restore it sounds the same as before. Anyone else notice this problem?

Have you removed the screen protector? It covers the speaker near your ear.

While he's sleeping swap your phone with his

Have you checked by maximizing your volume (pressing the volume buttons)? Do you've a iPhone cover that covers the left speaker? usually leather covers have a strap that goes over the left speaker.
