Do I have to sign the dotted line in the shop?
Right. I live in the Uk, and I'm gonna buy an 8gb iphone from Carphone warehouse (a big mobile phone shop) for £169 (new price, £100 slashed off, yay!)
just wondering; i wont be asked to sign any contract in the shop will i? I just want to get home and use ziphone to activate it.
oh, and Ziphone is compatible with the latest iphones right? Like, will it automatically downgrade anything that needs to be downgraded?
Thanks.

you'll have to sign on the dotted line if you use a credit card, but i don't think you'd have to activate through anyone unless you buy it from the actual carrier.
ziphone will downgrade the bootloader if you unlock, which is completely unnecessary. you should use pwnage to pwn your phone. there's a good manual here on how to use that, or i like to recommend the one on hackthatphone.com as i feel that one is the easiest to follow

you only activate the iphone in itunes so no matter what they say or do, its up to you to activate the phone through itunes. if u do the works on the phone it will be activated, jailbroken and unlocked for use on any GSM carrier. i would use iliberty instead unless you have access to a mac, then i would use pwnage if i were you. good luck =]
