Newbie Questions: Help Please!

Got my iPhone, did a few customizations to it but this is my first Apple product. I use to use iRiver and loved the ease of DRAG AND DROP functionality to put stuff on and off of the unit. Well, with the iTunes stuff I am confused as to how to take a video I have on my desktop or somewhere and put it into iTunes so I can upload it onto my iPhone? Or is there a way I can use modded programs or something to transfer videos over...?

Another thing, I could have sworn I zoomed in on my camera on the iPhone, but can't seem to find anything about how to zoom, is there a way that I am just obliviously overlooking?

Yep as the title states I am a newbie to Apple stuff so help me out please!
