Received Call Issue

Hiya,
I'm having a problem with a 1.1.4 unlocked (Iplus) Iphone. When I receive a call, sometimes the number will display like +12 345678978, but then the next time the same number calls, it will display +11234567789 (the same thing happens with people in my contact list also, first display incorrect, then display the callerid picture & contact name).
This phone is being used in the US, so I'm not really understanding why it's doing this. I have all the international settings set to the US as far as I can tell.
I tried searching the forum for received calls, but none of the results matched my problem.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
