I currently have the switcheasy capsule case on my iphone. It comes with a universal dock adapter so you dont have to take your phone out of the case to dock it. Rather then pay for the universal dock I gutted my stock iphone dock and built my own universal dock. I took the new homemade dock out to my car and attempted to use the line out jack on the new dock to connect to the aux input of my car stereo. No sound would transmit thru the stereo. Question is shouldnt this have worked? Could someone else confirm that the line out on the OEM iphone dock will work to connect to a aux in on a stereo. I would like to know this to see if I messed up the dock circuit board removing it or scratched a trace or something.
It syncs and charges fine with iTunes thru the dock.
