if the phone won't even turn on at all, you're out of luck. if it DOES turn on and you have ssh installed and turned on, then you can use that to connect to your phone via a computer and retrieve files that way

NOTHING! there's just nothing you can do if it doesn't turn on. it sounds liek the phone is fried. did you not charge it with an iphone compatible charger? or perhaps you didn't use a converter for thailand?
it's not asking a dead person to come back to life. you can't force it on when it's dead

no fuse replacement or way to take out those photos then??
the correct word would be temporarily power.Last edited by v10; 04-04-2008 at 11:46 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

no. again, it's like asking a dead person to come back to life so you can get that $10 back. no, it definitely sounds like it's dead to me. you can always attempt to put the phone into dfu mode and see if your computer recognizes it, but again, it sounds like it's fried

install Iphone pc suite and plug it into the computer. Then open the pc suite and you can select what u wanna do back up all or just copy the photos
This way work without ssh. U just need the pc cable.

DFU: with your phone connected to your computer and itunes open, hold your power button and home button for 10 seconds, then let go of the power button and hold the home button for another 10 seconds. if you're able to go into dfu mode, the phone screen will remain black but itunes will see your phone in dfu mode and ask you to restore
either way, your photos are gone, but if you're able to put it in dfu mode, at least you still have a phone, and this is why i sync my phone almost every night
