Defo needs a replacement screen!!! He must have bashed it somehow because it's defo not the ribbon.

Thanks for the reply, I'd think it should be under warranty right? He just got it at Christmas and the glass isn't cracked or anything. It just doesn't light up more than colored lines on that side. You can hit apps on that side of screen and they open with the good half of screen. My wife is calling apple store to inquire.

It's definitely still under warranty. They will do the usual water damage inspection and probably replace it free of charge. My wife's iPhone stopped booting up one day and it was reporting a hardware failure and they replaced it when it was 6mo out of warranty.

Why dont you try restoring before sending it for a fix? Perhaps it might fix the problem

If there's no sign of damage just get Apple to replace it. Try a restore by all means but im 99.9% sure it won't fix it. Just replace it as either way it's dodgy
