Default Urgade jailbroken 4.2.1 iPad to the latest - Novice
    Hello all,

My geeky ex gifted this iPad1 to me in 2010 and he jailbroke it for me. And few months later we broke up

So now I have a already jailbroken iPad running on 4.2.1 which I want to upgrade to whichever is the latest most stable jailbroken version. (I do want to keep it jailbroken) I see many apps now dont even support the 4.2.1 version.

I am completely novice in this field,so will much appreciate simple set of instructions. I read pages on greenpoison and redsnow but they scared me more than they helped me. I dont understand the difference between tethered and untethered. What in the world are blobs and shsh <crying out for help>

Can someone be kind and patient to help me please

    Thank you

How do I update it ? I tried to connect it to my mac and use itunes to upgrade it - although itunes gives me the option to upgrade - it doesnt really upgrade it - may be because its jailbroken ?
Also, when I know how to upgrade, will I need to take backup before upgrading ?

Thanks ! I think I will have to figure out why my itunes is not upgrading it. How do I take the backup ? Do I use any app to do that ?
