Thread: iTunes does not recognize iPad

Default iTunes does not recognize iPad
I was syncing my iPad when I accidentally disconnect my iPad (3.2) in the middle of the process and iTunes froze up on me so I used Leopard to Force Quit out of the program. When I restarted iTunes, it would no longer recognize the iPad. Also the iPad does not charge when it is connected to a cable now, so that leads to me to believe its something on the iPads end. Any ideas?e

Update: Took the iPad to the Apple store and was given a new one in less then 10 minutes. Made sure to clear all my content and settings though so my Jailbreak wasn't obvious

I have the exact same problem even though I don't think it happened when I disconnected the iPad during a sync. It just happened suddenly one day. I connected the iPad and nothing happened. I can get it to charge by using the 10w power adapter but it still says "not charging". I want to send it back to Apple but since I can't get it connected to iTunes and get a backup of it.

I've read through so many pages regarding other people with the same problem so it can't be a total shock to Apple that somehow the USB breaks on some iPads.

More specifically what I used was General>Reset>Erase All Content and Settings and from my understanding that completely erases everything (including the firmware) so yes there was not trace of the Jailbreak. From the research I did on this issue, I read this process may take a few hours but I did not wait that long. I basically left for the Apple store about 10 minutes after I started the process and the screen was on the boot logo. There was no mention of the Jailbreak on the Genius Report so I think its safe to assume this take care of the Jailbreak completely along with everything else.
