Can't find much on this subject. I'm looking to connect some type of device to my non 3G iPad for internet connectivity. Some phones can run as a modem - I'd like to do this. I'm on TMobile, so my iPhone won't cut it speed wise (WiFi connect to iPhone). I'd like to buy a real 3G TMobile phone, and plug it into the iPad for internet connect...
Anyone have any ideas?????

I got my WiFi only iPad with the specific intent of using Sprint Overdrive 4G mobile hotspot with it.
I also have my Nexus One (T-Mobile 3G) that I just upgraded with the latest Android Froyo (v2.2). Froyo comes with wireless and USB tethering support, so if your option is limited to T-Mobile then I think an Android phone w/ Froyo is your best bet.

Yes - we are using ATT due to the low monthly all you can eat cost ($30). We are TMobile for everything else (iPhones etc). I know TM is slow (only edge).

You want a MiFi. Sprint offer them, i have got one with the 3 network here in the UK.
They are like a little router that take the data signal and transform it into a wireless hotspot anywhere.
Up to 5 devices can connect to it at once.
Mine is perfect and it's tiny. Only thing is the battery life lasts about 5 hours - not as long as my ipad. A spare battery is £11 on ebay and i will be investing shortlyThe Original Autobot of MMiJesus couldn't turn into a fire engine
