Bricked ipad!!! Please help
So I have been on Cydia adding apps and changing the sizes of apps.
Everything was going ok until I tried to add VoiceControl.
Once I added the code and tried to respring, the apple icon comes on for a couple of minutes and then the white gear comes up too..right in front of the apple.
Every time I try and reboot, this same scenario happens.
I cant turn it off to force a restore either.
Can someone please help me?
I don't want to have a $900 paperweight at my desk.
Thanks in advance!

Hold the power and home button during the spinning white gear looking screen. Do this till the screen turns off.
When it's fully shutdown, hold the home button and connect the usb cable to your computer with itunes running. Keep holding the button till a screen pops up on your computer to tell you that the iPad is in recovery mode. Then proceed to restore like normal.

Not working, the screen shuts off and I plug it in with iTunes and it doesn't want to see the iPad.

Google "how to enter dfu mode iPhone" you should be able to find a guide on how to get into it pretty easy. I have never met an iPhone that can't be fixed and I'm assuming that would go for the iPad. They are practically the same thing. Just bigger and better. Hanna
Here is a good video

Put the iPad bro DFU mode with the instructions provided above. (or video). Then plug in the iPad. Restore it. After restore. Restore your information back on. Open up spirit, re-jailbreak. Stay away from activating voice control! I screwed up my iPad by adding sbsettings. I restored it. But my information back on. And I am staying he he'll away from SBSETTINGS until a proper iPad version of it is available!

I had the same problem and this is how I fixed it
when the apple and spinning wheel are on the screen I used winscp and logged into the iPad and replaced the Kblaaah file what ever it's name was with the backup I made and then my iPad booted to the lock screen and all is good

just installed the iPad beta version of SBSETTINGS! thank god everything worked out lol ...... i had my fingers crossed the whole time it rebooted. Battery life is a BIG deal to me. im hoping that SBSETTINGS will not chew up lots of background cpu usage ... which in turn will drain battery. ALso installed backgrounder. I wont be using that heavily but also hope that the app just sitting their not being used will also NOT use too much background CPU ......
05-07-2010, 04:41 PM #10It didn't solve my problem.
Afture using spirit, I used the Settings-General-Reset Everything feature and the ipad came back up to the Apple Logo. It sat there for a long time. I tried to enter the DFU; however, now the iPad is off.
Won't turn, tried charging it, nothing.
Is there any other option? And, what do I do if there is not?

Dfu mode will make it appear off. Have you tried plugging it into iTunes?Sent from my iPad

Crap! I think my issue is worse. I hope you guys can help me.
I was using my iPad last night. The last app I installed was the one that let's you resize the apps, FullForce I think? Anyhow, it worked perfectly and I used it for about an hour. Then I went to bed. When I woke up it's black. Holding home/power do nothing. I put it in DFU mode but holding power/home 10 seconds then releasing power. iTunes tries to restore but then gives me an error (121) and says it cannot be restored.
ANY IDEAS? I don't wanna drive 1hr to the Apple Store especially if they somehow notice it's jailbroken. OOPS

Just wanted to report back and say that after 1.5hrs on the phone with Apple, they've concluded that I may have the first hardware related "bricked" iPad. What an honor... I am sending it back today and they are sending me a new one. Hope the new one has awesome battery life like this one did!
