Hi, I am completely new to iTunes and iPad is my first Apple device. I have a ringtone in iTunes. But I can't drag it to iPad, nor can I find the "Ringtones" Sync option in iPad's settings under iTunes.
is iPad not able to sync ringtones?

A ringtone is something that plays when you get a phone call. Since the iPad doesn't have a phone you can't sync ringtones.

Isn't it the same sound effect for things like notifications? If not then how do you load up new sounds for those things? Like E-mail notification and such.
<-- complete newbie.

Not the same. Ringtones are used explicitly for ringing. ATM, one cannot change the sound of emails and such. However, there are apps in the App Store that will do push mail, and allow for custom tones in that respect. Also, there are jailbreak apps that allow for one to change these tones. Obviously one must jailbreak to achieve such a feat :-PAnd it will be like a taco inside a taco within a Taco Bell that's inside a KFC that's within a mall that's inside your dream!
