I just see it as an iPhone with a big screen. Is it just me?"Everyone knows Macs are better than PCs"

Can't argue with this. I find it like a 10" iPhone which is actually fine. If I didn't need my laptop for some business use the.n this device would be fine. For what it is designed for, it's friggin great. I'll keep it fo sho.

Actually I think the iPad is now the device to compare everything else to. For example the iPod Touch is now just an iPad nano. The iPhone is just a mini version of the iPad.

Well my problem is that everyone is saying the iPad is amazing, but nobody ever says why. Sure it's cool. It's by Apple. But what makes it so wow?
I love my iPhone and don't wanna trade it for any other phone. The iPhone was a technological revolution in the way we think about mobile phones.
But the iPad, as cool as it is, looks to me like an upscaled version of that same revolution. That is, not a revolution at all.
With the iPhone, apple entered an existing market and just ******* turned it upside down. Now everyone else is trying to catch up.
With the iPad, Apple created a sort of in-between niche.
Again, I understand the cool factor. I just don't understand the awe in which many people seem to be about it. (not to mention that video up there, which reminds of some pyramid scheme/cult meetings. Calm down, it's a computer.)

It's amazing because of how simple and innovative it does things..you really have to hold one in your hand to know what it does and how amazing it is

For me, over the last decade, computers have gotten too complicated. Not to operate mind you, but the mass of code and garbage always running in the background, drivers, etc. etc, the home computer has become a bit of a mess leading to poor performance and frequent crashes (obviously more so on the Windows side).
Over the last 2 plus years, I've done a large majority of my web-surfing on my iphone simply because of the ease of use.
The iPad is kind of a reboot I guess. It's stripped away all the garbage and made it clean, sleak, easy, and in common Apple terms, it just works.
The interface is familiar yet refreshing, as we've never seen it on such a sizable platform. It really is exactly as it was described (to those paying attention). It's a perfect fit into a niche we didn't even know existed.
My iphone just got demoted back to primarily being a phone. My laptop/desktop is now working as a home server and will be ready for more advanced tasks (video editing, music creation, etc.)
Day to day though, on the couch, on the road, at the office, the iPad will now be by my side for book/magazine/newspaper (Early Edition rules) reading, movie playing, music listening, etc. etc.
