Using an iPad outside the US before the worldwide launch..
There are MANY eBay auctions with pre-ordered iPads floating around the net.. Years ago, this is how I bought my first iPhone here in the UK. I had one months before everyone else..
I'm figuring I'll do the same with the iPad.
Of course, with the App Store and what-not, things are quite different these days..
If I plug an iPad into my PC - having a UK iTunes account - what will happen? Will it sync? Will the App Store be available? WILL THE UNIVERSE COLLAPSE?!!
Does anyone have any ideas? Or know who I can ask?

You should be fine. It's not like apple is going to say that you can't use an ipad outside the US until the official launch. They just haven't started official distribution.

So I'd just be able to browse the web and stuff - no apps or iBooks..?
Hmm. I'm so tempted. Haha.

You could use the iPhone apps. Or use a US proxy server to get the US store and buy books and ipad apps that way.
