Why is there continuing support for video calls in the iPad SDK. I would love if they added a webcam into the iPad for the first gen but I am still doubtful... Thoughts?

Camera will come out next year. Just another way for apple to gain more and more money by slowly adding things to the ipad that should of been there fom the start.
But isnt that what apple is all about?... God i hate themEDM

It would be pretty awesome if there where some truth to the rumors about there being a camera in the ipad and it was a surprise feature with ichat or something, but i doubt it very much. More than likely there is going to be video calling in the next generation iphone and perhaps the next ipad.
i can already imagine some of the cool things you could do with a front facing camera in terms of apps.

its not like someone cant just make an framework that would use a camera connected to the usb 30 pin connector

I just dont understand why they would put this in the SDK if the ipad with a camera (second gen) is not going to come out for at least a year.

Well until then I will keep my fingers crossed that they will add one although I'm pretty doubtful.. Imagine how much money case makers will have lost if Apple decides to add a camera to the iPad before launch.
