I think I'm going to go with the wifi only model (not sure what size yet). I have wifi at my apartment and across my entire campus which are the two main places I will be using it.

Also hopefully I will be upgrading from my un-jailbreakable 2g to a 3gs or a 4g when it comes out and with mywi should be able to essentially have a iPad with 3g internet where ever i need it.

There's no need to get the 3G model if you got good wifi coverage

But why? For the $200 you spend you could get the 3G integrated into the device, unless the data plan is substantially cheaper than the iPads $30 a month, which i doubt.

Wifi only for me. But the 64 GB one more than likely.

We can tether to our iPhones right? If so then MyWi, or just straight tethering for me if I need 3G connection. Or, if I really need the 3G, and I'm too lazy to tether, I bit the bullet and do things with my iphone.....

I was going to get the 3G model but giving another $30 a month to AT&T makes me want to puke.

    1. You can connect 3 devices at the same time
    2. Buy the prepaid mobile broadband only $150 with 12G for 1 year expiry

I swing back and forth between the two choices. Yes, I can use MyWi on my 3GS. However, I hear it uses the iPhone's battery fast. Also, it seems cumbersome to have to turn on the MyWi everytime you want to use the iPad where there is no Wi-Fi. With the Wi-Fi+3G, you turn it on, it's connected. It's more convenient. Guess I'll wait for the reviews.

Thats really all it comes down to if you have a jailbroken iphone; inconvenience vs $30 a month. I'll stick with the inconvenience

Also I'd imagine a male to male dock cable could be rigged up that would allow charging from the iPad to the iPhone. Obviously data transfer and any form of tethering would be out of the question but at least you could keep the battery in your phone topped off.

I just tried out mywi on my jailbroken iphone with my wireless laptop. Works amazing.

Why give an extra 30 dollars a month to att if you already have an iphone with data and mywi program??????

In a year and a half, the savings you have will get you another ipad!!!

if I am using mywi for a long period of time chances are I will be near an outlet and can just plug in my phone, but the rest of the time I will just drain the battery when I need to not a big deal.

Think about it with all the savings you can pay for apple to replace your battery later haha

    Very true

Or maybe you can pay a 3rd party to replace the battery cheaper hahaha.
