The Btooth functionality needs to improve. Even the mid range phones have these functions. I can understand not enabling mp3 sending via bluetooth for copyright reasons but at least we should be able to send/receive pictures.

And since iphone is meant to be a music phone the a2dp definitely shoul dbe enabled.

I support this initiative 100% and i am willing to put my 2 cents in

hope to hear some good news soon

I don't normally respond like this, but.... LOL @ joerisnoeren, nice first post man!

Anyways. Yeah we need more Bluetooth profiles for the iPhone. Its getting really lame. "Hey man, can you send me that picture to me?" "Well I can email it to you -_-" "You mean you can't send it through Bluetooth?" "NOPE." "WTF?"

Lol, welcome to the forum. Now put your reading glasses on and read everyone else's posts...

Haha I know what you mean. People play around with the phone, are amazed by what it does, listen to some of your music or take some pictures, and say, "hey man, can you send me that". And I'm like... ermm... no... lol

And I would much rather connect my computer to my phone without have to ssh. Kinda gets annoying...

Well good replies people. Keep up the good work.

Thinking about making a donations thing where we could get people to donate and it would go towards a developer...

what needs to be done is some one needs to do two things to get this to work...
    1) ssh into the iphone and find the folder where the bluetooth profile is located
    2) some one needs to find a profile that will work for the iphone

i could manage to do 2 but way to lazy to so #1 if some one sends me the info for one i will be able to do 2... i have some dev skills and enough to do this so please send me your results

pm me for further info or quetions

I have the feeling that it isn't in a folder but deeper into the firmware. I think I saw somewhere that at one stage apple did add a new profile. If we found the firmware and the one before it than maybe you can compare the difference and find where the changes have been made... Possible?

There's a pretty long thread about adding OBEX and other bluetooth services to the iPhone over on hacint0sh.org: http://hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=21396

If you're interested in this issue, give it a read, and you'll find out more about what is/isn't working...

I agree, the iPhone would be so much more useful if it had the full complement of bluetooth profiles! The top of my list isn't A2DP for wireless headphones, though it would be nice. I want reverse dialup networking! I have a Sprint SERO plan for $30/month with unlimited 3G EVDO data. My Palm TX and MacBook can DUN through my EVDO phone just fine- why shouldn't my iPhone? I don't mind carrying the iPhone as a PDA, and my sprint phone, if it lets me get data everywhere (and unlimited texting, etc) at less than half the cost of AT&T, and it works everywhere I need, which I can't say for GSM...

i have another idea but we would 100% need the dev team for this idea... if what matt4iphones said is true
it isn't in a folder but deeper into the firmware.
that is the point of pwnage... inother words pwnage decrypts the firmware installer files then changes them then re-encrypts them... in the decrypted stage u would be able to find and add the profiles would be my guess... thats too much for me sry... but i have a feeling that its in a folder that we could ssh into... i dont think they make it deeper if in the first place we cant even access the phones file system, we need to jailbreak it first...
ps sry bout the long posts

I am no iPhone Guru but from whatever I have gathered from various blogs\forums etc, I tend to believe it is a software (or maybe firmware?) deficiency.
I think, rather hope and pray, that it is not a hardware related issue.

I have voted for option #1 I'd really like to hear from a dev on this

Haha man. Thanks for voting. But i think we have already confirmed its a software issue.
Thanks for the input though. Keep checking here. Hopefully we will have some progress sooner or later.
