All I really care about is A2DP. File transfer is easy and fast as it is with SSH, and I wouldn't bother having it slowed down by using Bluetooth instead, but I am majorly in the market for Bluetooth headphones, and I don't feel like shelling out for an adapter as well as headphones.

Hi Mattmac, I'm a new member and haven't read all the pages on this subject. I don't know if this will help, but i found firmware from the developer of the i-phone bt chip. BlueCore4-ROM HCI Firmware - CSR Support . I read somewhere that BC4Rom is the chip used in the i-phone. On the CRS site above you'll find 3 HCI stack files.

Yeah, the iPhone 1st Gen uses the BC4Rom, and the 3g uses the BC5Rom I think, off ha d that is...
And that site only contains documentation on all the firmwares of the device.

Yeah!!! Hack that Bluetooth. But then you'll need a special file browser that can support sending and receiving files. Maybe something similar to MobileFinder or AirSharing but with support for transfers between any Bluetooth equipped device.
Soz, couldn't read all the posts, iPhone keeps going from EDGE to GPRS, GPRS is painfully slow.

if this help i was able to pair my iphone 3g to my blackberry curve 8310 but the only profiles that came up are handsfree and headset gateways

we have a status release we released a while ago you can check the other forums or ask on irc where else to find it im not 100% sure what i said in it sry... but pretty much we have to fully understand how the bluetooth works in the iphone... we have to know every detail pretty much if we pretty much want to make our own bluetooth profile... To clarify we are doing research be fore we go into coding... i hope to get into coding soon but that is at the call of the developers and when they see fit to do so... you cant run be fore you can walk
