How do you install this on a 1st Gen iPhone with the 2.0 Firmware? I can't find com.apple.celestial.plist in /var/root/Library/Preferences/.
Also can't do this:
2). Copy the SystemSoundMaximumVolume.plist file to /System/Library/Frameworks/Celestial.framework/Last edited by UXSam; 07-29-2008 at 02:54 PM.

I found where the volume settings are stored on f/w 2.0 and higher but can't attempt to edit the files yet as I'm at work and can't access my iphone here so I'm on finder, and there is no com.celestial.plist that I can find. The directory on the iphone is /system/library/privateframeworks/celestial.framework/
I'll try grabbing these files and playing with them later as the low volume is just annoying as hell when I'm driving/in a loud environment!!
I'll keep you guys posted!

Edit: Noticed a user posted a similar response a few posts back but didn't give many details...plus I just like tinkering so I'll find as much as I can!Last edited by Apollo_316; 11-05-2008 at 07:49 AM.

Add iclarified's source: http://cydia.iclarified.com/ has volume boosts for 2.0.1, 2.1.0 and 2.2.0. It works great.

Hi, guys! I got 2 questions:
1) Will iVolume v1.3 work well in a 1G phone running 2.2?
2) There is a file called volumeboost 2.2 from Cydia. Is this better than iVolume v1.3?
.

Does the Volume Booster thing work for 3.0 as well? I am really interested in this since my earpiece is very very soft.

Thanks!
Please add this to the OP!
If you don't feel like SSHing, you can use MobileTerminal from Cydia.
Run Terminal.
type "su" enter
type "alpine" enter
type "cd /System/Library/PrivateFramework/Celestial.framework/" enter
type "chmod 0777 RegionalVolumeLimits.plist" enterLast edited by @heyart; 06-29-2009 at 09:15 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Hey guys i got good news for all of you..if you want to make your keypad's sound louder, just add this repo in cydia

after that please go to the repo and install SSMV4 (your desired percentage), and you are all set!
