If one were to think like me, the thought of ios 7 automatically downloading onto my phone is not a good thing.
It is a waste of space and blah blah blah.
The REAL sketchy part is that it automatically downloads.
In this thread, I will be discussing how to effectively delete the update files & prevent it from happening again.
- iDevice with access to root filesystem
- iFile / SSH 'or anything capable of accessing the filesystem'
- root privelege
Navigate to /etc
Make a copy of the file named 'host' and rename the copy to 'host.backup'. This creates a safety net.
Open the 'host' file and append the lineCode:
Navigate to /var/MobileSoftwareUpdate
delete all contents
NO MORE AUTO DOWNLOAD AND MORE FREESPACE
