If one were to think like me, the thought of ios 7 automatically downloading onto my phone is not a good thing.
It is a waste of space and blah blah blah.

The REAL sketchy part is that it automatically downloads.

In this thread, I will be discussing how to effectively delete the update files & prevent it from happening again.

Requirements
  • iDevice with access to root filesystem
  • iFile / SSH 'or anything capable of accessing the filesystem'
  • root privelege

----STEP 1----
Navigate to /etc

Make a copy of the file named 'host' and rename the copy to 'host.backup'. This creates a safety net.

Open the 'host' file and append the line
Code:
127.0.0.1 appldlnd.apple.com
File should look similar to this one:

----STEP 2-----
Navigate to /var/MobileSoftwareUpdate

delete all contents

NO MORE AUTO DOWNLOAD AND MORE FREESPACE
