Ok. But you mean "the problem is with Yahoo's feed in myLocation Widgets and not in UniAW. UniAW WW works fine. That was the distinction I was trying to make.

Yes, I understood that. Just wanted to try to clear up the confusion. To say "Yahoo is down" these days isn't quite as accurate as it was six months ago.

Yes. It was only down for a very short time. That's why Ian didn't see it. He was sleeping during the time it was down. Only about 2 hours in the morning - Eastern Standard Time. Though Brazil is in Eastern Time Zone too.. isn't it? Hmmm.. Now I'm confused. If it was down - it was down for EVERYone - including Ian.. LOL!! Yahoo didn't let his phone work.. LOL!!

Ah ok, if it was only for a couple of hours then yes, I probably missed it, I don't look at my phone all that often.

It's really sad lately. The pirates are ruthless along with the like minded jailbreakers who use those repo's/blogs ect.

My Alien lock I worked a lot of hours on and put out for sale on cydia and also free here has more downloads on just one of the five pirate sites it's on compared to my 10 cydia sales and 51 downloads from my post. 3x as many as of a few hours ago....smh
Why pirate it when you get my own link? Sure I ask for donations but its not necessary to download.

I've been doing this a while and know I shouldn't even look anymore but when you see what's happening with developers/modders/themers legitimate purchases over the last few years its a wonder we have anyone interested in the jailbreak game anymore.

I'm just thankful for the ones I do know and what they do. Far too many to list. Y'all know who you are

    Hi Derrick,

It's never going to change M8 and SauriK is partly to blame for letting these pirate repo's appear in Cydia, not sure why he just can't ban them but have my suspicions!!

We should take a lesson from software companies & start looking at adding serial number to paid themes, yes sure it's not 100% but the added hassle people would have in trying to obtain valid serial numbers might just be enough to persuade them just to pay the small sum.

    Ian.

Someone should contact Phoenix3000 IIRC he has made tweaks considered "uncrackable" by the best of the best (or worst) in the pirating "realm". I don't think it's anything totally limited to tweaks only. Or intelliscreenx another tweak considered uncrackable

GroovyCarrot makes his stuff based on a dylib too which can't be used without a special code. Uncrackable. Bunch of extra work for theme creator - little bit of pain for user - but stops the stealing.

It's 98% kids with no credit cards or bank accounts that use the pirate repos. They feel entitled to it since they "can't" pay.

I got introduced to jail breaking by a 12 year old at my church. First Cydia source he taught me to download was a pirate repo..

Disagree from experience. Kids always get the blame they tend to be the ones who ask the creator for a copy. It's the older people who pirate because to afraid to ask or feel they are entitled to it

Jes' sayin'.. It's a fact that kids have no way to pay in most cases. And 99% of paid tweaks/mods out there don't have a free option as Derrick has so graciously offered.

Hmm. I will argue with you here. Cause you can get a prepaid card at almost any store , grocery, wal Mart and small stores and apply to pay pal

The fact is 90% of kids these days are lazy. And would rather leech off mommy and daddy than work to have something

I see this all the time I started working when I was 14 yrs old. And have always paid my way Not saying I have not downloaded pirated apps and themes v cause I use to try before I bought anything.

But where there is a will. There is always a way brother

If you look up some of Saurik's blogs, he is very clear as to why he allows the pirate repo's. it's much too long of a discussion for me to get into it here.

With that said, I'm not in support of pirate repo's, but I do understand why he allows them.
