I'm running Durben's ios7 lockscreen for the last couple of days, and at the bottom of the screen it mentions the last update.

Until about an hour ago, although I had set the update interval to 10 min., as I mentioned in my previous posts, it updated whenever it wanted, EVEN if the phone was asleep. For example, I hadn't use my phone from 7 pm to 8 pm. When I pressed the home button at lets say 8:05, the lockscreen mentioned that the last update was at 7:30.

So, is it supposed to run and update the weather in the background? Because I recall Durben saying that the tweak isn't sending or receiving when the phone is asleep.

Furthermore, during the last hour I tried to experiment a little bit. I remembered that I had "forecast" installed, which was set to update every 15 minutes. So I uninstalled it...

The result was/is that the tweak isn't updating in the background. However, having it set to 10 min. interval, whenever I awake my phone it updates instantly, as long as the 10 min. have passed! I also checked the log file and noticed that it has nothing to do with my previous log files (when I had forecast installed). It's trying to update, it creates the xml file, it keeps trying to update for a couple of minutes after my phone sleeps (I guess it happens until the phone's radios are turned off), and then it retries as soon as I press my home button. If I do it within 10 min., it won't update. If I do it after 10 minutes, it will update instantly which is great!

Is THIS the way it's supposed to work? If so, then the issue was "forecast" tweak, and it would be great if anyone else could test and confirm that.

    Many thanks in advance.

P.S.: My previous logs were a constant effort of updating, regardless of the phone's state (sleep or awake) and unlimited denies because of the update interval (which were insufficient).
It's exactly the way it must work !

Now, if you receive a notification/a push, i think your phone wakes up, and the tweak may update the weather.

My themes : Jade HD, Silex HD, BaSalt HD,ToPaz

Sounds like not only do you understand it, but you found a conflict.

    Thanks Dacal!

Then I assume there was some kind of a conflict with the forecast tweak. If anyone else experiencing the same issues has forecast installed, it would be great to try this and give some feedback to the developers, so that they can test and confirm that.

Thanks to j0k3r who gave me the idea with Lockinfo, which as I understand it controls the NC weather update intervals like forecast does.

Kinda disappointed. I went from England to France to Mexico to Norway and even stopped off in China and Japan and not once did WW pick up on any of those locations. Just terrible.

Well.. as tough as I sometimes am on a tweak -- I just need to gush tonight.

This is one FREAKIN' AWESOME TWEAK!!!!!

The sweet spot for me seems to be Constant Mode + Update interval 10 min. If I've come out of airplane or loc services off then back on.. About 15 minutes after the tweak gets stuck.. as a few others have reported.

But what blew me away tonight were two things:
    1) I've designed an iWidget (WW code is all Drifter's doing.. great mentor to me).. And it shows just City (City 1) and Township (City 2) from the XML. The location positioning is so refined that City and township update separately.. Well the whole XML file updates.. But if a city is large enough to encompass 2 townships - the tweak on Constant knows all that. Even more than Weather.app itself. But this level of detail only seems possible in Constant.

    2) the encore was tonight when I went to get a scrip from my local drug store which is in a small 1 light town called Erdenheim. No weather app ever sees this town. BUT WW DID!!!

Derrick, Brian and Stephen.... WOW!!! And again I say WOW!!!

He's finally understanding that this isn't like the "native" option from before. It only took several weeks and MANY repeated explanations from just about everyone involved to get that threw to him but YEAH it's finally over.

Been a little busy as its my sons birthday today.
Will be a lot going on this weekend with that, Ezra2 release tomorrow, and usual other things.

Anyway, been working on a moon phase icon set based off a pic I took of the moon.

Here's a little peek at the "full moon"

Most other images are done just need some time on PS to get them sorted.
If I'm not happy with them ill have an actual set of the moon phases done all by taking pics daily.
Hopefully the weather cooperates and it's not cloudy. We will see.

Anyway y'all, have a great night. Keep enjoying Widget Weather, only going to get better

Can someone please tell me how to get the Base Lockscreen download? It is not included in the 1.4.8 package as indicated. Thanks in advance.

Mine are more of a "I want to see if I can do it" thing. I've got a bunch of the phases shot already.

WidgetWeather is the ****, I continue to be amazed with its speed of updating, and accuracy of reporting information. If Apple ever decides to incorporate widgets into iOS, I think Sddev and the crew would be their first stop.
