I would say this is a little advanced for a beginner M8, there is a little too much involved to post here.

Gunny's suggestion is probably the easiest. Take an existing widget and modify it to what you need. Most of the code has changed, so a conversion is very involved. Even the more experienced modded are just remaking their widgets, as it is easier that way.

Jesus,I'm sure Durbens going to put up one of his soon so you can look at it but the best way is to take one of the widgets on first page and use it and just change stuff it's a lot to explain

Jesus, since Durben's release of his "design" widget for us to look at I've been studying this. And I've isolated the code necessary to input the XML info. I've run a few ideas where I'm tripping up past Dacal and think I'm within a couple of weeks of being able to create a base level tutorial. But King, Ian & Durben are right that it's not easy. I'll share with you what I have. But have you ever played with an of the settings in the .js files before? Or only HTML and CSS files?
Here to help if I can. If I can't I know someone who can!

The theme in my posts is 3 4 All, by Sk37cH.

The numerous versions released, and infinite versatility, beats IconOmatic mods. By quality.

My IP5 started going into safe mode last night and it wouldn't stop until I removed the Widget Weather. I was about to give up until I checked in this morning and found the update. It works great now and Thanks everyone for all your hard work.

Mainly only HTML and CSS, but I have done some basic editing in .js like true/false options, and finding and changing text for lack of Internet and Day/Month names. Also like I said before, I have nothing against reading, learning, trying, or failing (although the latter is upsetting). After all we would go nowhere if we didn't try.

    Morning y'all

Like Ian said, writing out anything in regards to converting to iWidget is a long process.
Also I can't tell you what you will use and what you won't in regards to information used.

The main.js in the base is pretty detailed as to what controls what.
I broke down the daily forecast, the hourly is set in two tables. First 6 hours and last 6 hours.
The rest is all pretty much the same.

I think most are just waiting on the easy option, when one is posted they will mod it.

Bottom line is these are functioning widgets. If you've made something before its easy enough to make it with widget weather. The html and css are the same as any other widget. The js is only different in regards to how we get the info from the xml file. The rest of it is the same as any other weather widget.

If I had more time lately I'd have put something up but between updating these locks (and ones I've made previously) to add new code changes from within a few days and helping with Ezra2 along with other side projects I just haven't had the time.

There's a few people on this thread who can do it as well, why no ones been able to post anything they've made from this at this point I don't know.

This is the body of an HTC iWidget made from the base WidgetWeather theme. Even with Durbens help I was unable to work out the issues with the clock unfortunately. However I modded my old MyLocation widget to be nothing but a flip clock. Although it's actually 2 separate widgets it gets the job done.

    Download Body:https://www.dropbox.com/s/xkgtisfsfi...HTC%20Body.zip

    Download FlipClock:https://www.dropbox.com/s/2mrjmm6jvb...0FlipClock.zip

Note that when placing FlipClock on springboard it still has GPS weather and other options. I've edited them out in the CSS and HTML but when I take them out of the options.plist file it breaks the clock function.

It's not 100% yet as far as design but its 100% functional.

Put the widgetweather.xml in folder with the html

In the main.js it should look like this to use on computer
    (function updateweather)

    Change it from this

I have never used LockInfo, but I'm constantly having the same issue.

I have tried 5,10 and 15 min. update intervals, but unfortunately it updates whenever it wants (always after 25 minutes MINIMUM...).

The log file keeps saying "not updating because time limit". It's a shame that's not working for me, I was pretty excited about this tweak

    Any ideas from the experts??
