OK. Can you edit the main.js file and replace the entire updateWeather function with that ?

It's a workaround, missing a tag in your XML.

EDIT : complete main.js file 3 or 4 post below.

If you stay within that radius for the next 10 hours, then it will update based on the update time that you have selected. Now when I say update, I am referring to the updating of the XML file only. Your widget will have its own update interval that tells it when to pull the data. I would think that the widgets update interval is set to update very frequently, as it is only pulling from a local file and not an internet feed.
That's very helpful, Brian. Thanks! That's how I thought I understood it.. It's great to hear that the xml getting updated is based on a change detected from GPS within that 100 meter radius. Good stuff. So if I'm on constant mode all the time I can set that 'update interval' in the tweak higher to possibly save some battery.. But I'm still concerned about the widget itself's update interval. I think each widget implements differently. I remember Ian talking of SOME every 20 second thing that UniAW does. Even under myLocation - UniAW has WICKED fast updating - especially after the $ajax timeout code line was added.

Fyi, like the MyLocation based tweaks, the widgets based on Widget Weather tweak check if the XML file has been updated all 20 seconds.
AH YES!!! THERE ARE THE MAGIC WORDS!! I knew UniAW had some 'faster check' method in it. I'm SO grateful -- you kept that CHECK every 20 sec in the WW version too, Dacal. Okay.. I feel great about all that.

It's still been fun sort of pitting myLocation against Widget Weather. Make no mistake - WW is superior - BUT NOT BY LEAPS AND BOUNDS. myLocation is still VERY fast with UniAW implementation. For other iWidgets and SB Wids and LS' - that don't employ the every 20 second check... they are MUUUCH slower than Widget Weather. It will be SO great when ALL the widgets adopt this new standard - as I think - even without the 20 second check on the xml - WW will get info to the widgets faster..

And would I be correct in saying - that an update interval set to very low (1 minute) when it's only checking an internal file on your phone is a LOT less battery intensive than checking a FEED every 1 minute? Hence we shouldn't be as afraid to choose LOW numbers? (1 min??). Or did UniAW also only ever check the myLocation.txt file - internal as well.. I remember back in the day being warned NEVER to set the update interval below 15 minutes because it would drain battery at a lot smaller numbers...

    Thanks,
    Grant

    Hi !

In your XML, and i sincerely don't know why, there is a missing tag in your XML. I use the information provides by this one to check if the weather condition has been updated. As the tag is missing, the code does not work...

Here the complete main.js. Replace with this one.

Derick, King, if you have an idea why this tag is missing ? I have tried with "Fixed" method with his woeid. It's working fine for me. Maybe need to talk about that at Stephen.

    Dacal

PS : can you edit your post ? Not necessary to put all the man.js, too long...

U're welcome, there is something strange in your XML. I think a tweak or something else is conflicting with WW tweak. BTW, you don't have my custom slider ? It's a choice or anything else ?

Please, edit your looooooooong post . Useless

First, after installing the tweak, reboot. Then go in the settings of Widget Weather, set the mode to "semi" and respring. If does not work, check if you have the widgetweather.xml file generated in var/mobile/Documents folder.

    Grant,

Yes, pulling the data from a local file uses far less resources then from a feed.

    Dacal,

Thank you so much for helping troubleshoot these issues.

Do you have Location Services on and Weather on in there?

    Settings app/Privacy/Location Services

Wondering if the update time string is involved with that at all.

    Hi,

So sorry I just got a few minutes and maybe I missed something: has the tweak been updated recently and why is it password protected now?

    Thanks.

    EDIT..

NVM, I guess I just posted this a little early LOL.. it;s working now.
