Thread: Drifter and MatchStic's Battery Stats iWidget

  1. #41
Would changing the refresh rate help with battery savings? I think the answer is, obviously, yes. I'm noticing this dylib is doing a little battery drain action on me when set at the default, Drifter, I think you said, it's 30 seconds?
Here to help if I can. If I can't I know someone who can!

Two different places where you can adjust the refresh timings to suite your needs.

The first one is the BatteryStats.dylib refreshing the BatteryStats.txt file.

    That is found here:

    var/mobile/Library/Preferences/BatteryStats-prefs.plist

currently its set to 30 seconds, just adjust to your liking

    -------------------------------------------------------------

The second one is the refresh rate the Battery.js fetches the data from the Battery.txt file for display on your screen.

    That is in the BatteryStats/Scripts/Battery.js

Just edit the BatteryStats.js file and change the setTimeout value in seconds there to your liking.

    Hope this helps

MatchStic and I both discussed this, he mentioned that it might be possible to tie the Battery State words to the language being used on your device. I think he is still looking into this possibility.

A different approach would be on the Javascript side using "if" statements in the Battery.js

    Here is a example:

    Code:
    if (State == 'Unplugged') {document.getElementByID("StateDisplay").innerHTML = 'nicht eingesteckt';}
You will have to add a separate if variable for each one you want to translate.
    (Unplugged, Charging, etc...)

    Hope this helps

Edit the Widget.html and delete the following line:

    Code:
    <img id ="Overlay" src="Images/Frames/Frame.png"/>

Yep. What i did originally was add a "1" to frame.png so that it would look like this, frame1.png
I know it would be looking for frame instead of frame1 so i figured once "frame" was wasn't found it just wouldn't be displayed. But of course the classic "white frame" appeared.
Plus i don't like to delete stuff guess it's also a good thing i keep copies of everything

Sorry, I am away from my computer at the moment, I wrote that example from memory, I might have the syntax wrong.

When I get home this evening I will sort out the correct java syntax to get you going

Thanks Matchstic, converting the translations through the dylib would be the easiest method

Gotta add a z-index in two places to achieve that

Edit the CSS and make the following changes:

Add a z-index:5; to the BatteryImage
Add a z-index:10; to the LevelDisplay

After your changes, save, then respring and you should be good to go

Thanks everybody for the Great feedback so far We are really Happy that your enjoying our new Tweak and Widget!

I have updated both BatteryStats iWidget versions on the First Post to V2 to help with some of the modding and to fix some minor coding errors.
Please Download the new V2 versions and replace the current versions you have on your device.

    ---------------------------------

    Recent Changes:

I added z-index's to all the elements so you can now easily layer your BatteryStats Display elements.

I adjusted the default setTimeout value from 10 to 30 seconds in the Battery.js.
Your display wont be instantaneous when you plug/unplug your device,
but this value should be a little easier on your battery life while running BatteryStats.

Fixed a small coding syntax error for the multiple Level variables in the Battery.js

    ---------------------------------

Matchstic is working hard on Language Translations for your State Display, so stay tuned for the next update!

All suggestions are welcome and we will continue to incorporate any changes that make your use of BatteryStats more enjoyable!

MatchStic and I are proud to present to you a Teaser Pic of our next Project: RAMstats

You guessed it, A Free RAM display now available on your springboard

Currently in Alpha stage, we still have a few bugs to work out, but the basic functionality is already done
