When you are viewing the picture, just take a screenshot of it.
MyLocation App update for 5.1.1 - 6.1.2 from bushe! Incase you are having problems, this app is working fine. You may need an updated location.js file. If it has been updated, and still not updating go to settings/general/reset and reset all settings, this will not affect your JB!

Open Activator, go to In Application, go down to the Volume Buttons controls, select one of them (I use Down Short Hold) and set the action to Take Screenshot. Next time you're viewing a picture, without taking your finger off the screen(that will obviously make the picture go away), use another finger and hold the Down Volume button until it takes a screenshot. Boom shakalaka.

I'm working on a paid tweak that adds a bunch of features to Snapchat, including disabling the time limit, keeping snaps as "unread," saving right to your Camera Roll, disabling "Screenshot!!" notifications, and more.
