(HOW TO) Siri Port for iPhone 4 with out a proxy server!
I just got SIRI working on my iphone 4 running iOS 5.0.1 tonight with out using a proxy server. It can take some time to do. Not because it takes a long time to install but it can take a long time to get SIRI to activate. Here are some easy steps to follow:
How to Install Siri on iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4G Without Proxy:
Step 1: Jailbreak your iPhone 4. You can use Redsn0w to do that and we have already posted about it.
Step 2: Cydia would have been installed now. Launch it. You will have to add a repo source to the Source on the app.
Add repo.siriport.ru to the Source.
Step 3: Hit the App store on Cydia and Install Siriport app. Once you’ve installed it, reboot the iPhone 4.
Step 4: Now this is where it gets a bit lengthy. In order to get Siri working, you need an iPhone 4S certificate. You can get that by pointing your browser (on your computer) to siriport.ru/1.crt. It should automatically download a file.
Now, email the certificate file to yourself – open your email on your phone and get the certificate. Once you’ve done that, reboot.
Step 5: Now, just activate Siri. It might get a bit on your nerves here so be patient. Say, ‘Hi Siri’ and wait for a while. About 1-4 minutes.
Now, if Siri hasn’t yet responded, say it again. Wait. If it still doesn’t budge, you will have to reboot the iPhone 4. Try again.
So that is the best way to explain the install. It really does work!! It took many tries of holding down the button and saying "hi siri". Siri will reply with a generic "i cant help you at this time...ect" response. I tried dozens of times and then tried rebooting and then dozens and dozens of more tries after that. Eventually Siri activated and said hello. One issue i ran into was once i installed "siriport", I couldn't go into the "general" part of setting to turn on siri. It would just crash when i tried. I got around this by putting the phone into safe mode and then going in to turn on Siri. If you have any questions, feel free to message me:-)
NOTICE: Seems people are having issues with crashing into safe mode... and being stuck there. Proceed at your own risk. This mod does work on my phone with no problems. Good luck and God speed!!Last edited by DJ222; 01-31-2012 at 05:29 AM.

Is it stuck in safe mode? If not, have you checked setting>general while not in safe mode?
I need to get some sleep soon but if you respond soon i will stay up and chat for a bit.
When ever you do an install and stuff goes wrong, Sometimes uninstalling everything you have done so far and retrying it works.Last edited by DJ222; 01-31-2012 at 03:50 AM.

Go into Cydia and uninstall "Siriport". You can do this in safe mode. Once you do that, let me know if the phone lets you out of safe mode and we can go from there.
I know with "Spire", some apps with cause the phone to freak when a siri port is installed. You got stuck in safe mode only after installing the certificate or were you stuck in safe mode after siriport was installed?Last edited by DJ222; 01-31-2012 at 03:56 AM.

is the phone working normally now?
well im going to get some sleep... Your main goal is to get your phone back to before you started the siri install. Once you get there, you have 2 choices. 1- forget it and dont try again......or 2- retry it and figure out what is causing the crash.
Once you uninstall all related apps to "siriport", your phone should go back to normal.Last edited by DJ222; 01-31-2012 at 04:47 AM.

Hi,
I'm having the opposite problem, SiriPort and the certificate install fine but have been trying for hours to get it to work with no success so decided to uninstall it.
First I removed the certificate then uninstalled SiriPort and upon rebooting the iPhone is now stuck in a Safe Mode loop which I cannot figure out how to fix, if I reinstall AiriPort all is fine again.
Any ideas on how to successfully uninstall SiriPort out there without being stuck in Safe Mode? Cheers.
Regards,
Kevin

THIS is just a mod if Spire.
I installed it, rebooted many times, tried different certificates, rebooted more times and still it wont activate.
The last port of Siri I used which did work for 30 mins never needed activating.
Do you have to do this to activate Siri on the iPhone 4S? If you do then why is it taking so long now?
I've been trying for the last 8 hours and still no luck.Apple wants clones instead of customers.

It took me a long time before it activated itself with this mod. It honestly will work with the certificate in the description. I have noticed it will go out of service for about 30 seconds every couple hours. Im not sure how the 4S is activated.....never wasted my money on it. Just keep trying every couple minutes and it will eventually work. One person posted that it took them 14 hours of trying before it worked.

Well I installed it about 3pm and its now 12am and its still not activated.
I'll try for a few more hours then give up till tomorrow.
I'll be pissed if I get it activated tonight then when I wake up it's no longer working...Apple wants clones instead of customers.

It's been over 24 hours and it still wont activate. I call it fake as it doesn't connect and just like all the other Siri Ports that dont work.

Can anyone please upload the certificate file to a filehost?
Because I can't seem to load this link: siriport.ru/1.crt
Edit: I found a different link to it. So if anyone is having the same problem as me.

I signed up just to thanks you DJ222. This most definitely works. Followed the directions and had to repeatedly push the home button to bring up siri and say hi siri. Did that for about 5 minutes and then it finally connected. Thanks so much DJ222. Always wanted to try siri, but i believe the new factor will wear off after a bit. Loving it currently though :P

Now 2 ppl I know have gotten through.... Im just wondering if I remove the certificate and re-install it will that hurt or help my situation?!?!?! and is there anyway to know for sure if it is being blocked by applE?!??
So the server is now down that hosts the certificate? does this mean Siri is gone for now?!?!~?Last edited by rj2685; 02-04-2012 at 01:43 PM.
