judging by the fact I cant get a response from the cefrtificate address, I reckon the siriport server may be down. I'll keep trying regardless.

Does this port forward your data like others? or does it save the certificate to your device?

Note: If they do let you save the certificate to your device then you need to download it once every day.

Any Siri service like this has the same privacy issues - your data is going through a server that you don't know if you can trust. I'd recommend being really cautious with using anything like it.

Not necessarily if your actually downloading the certificate then you don't have the privacy problem because your not going though a server with the certificate you actually have it on your device; however as I mentioned before if this how it works you need to manually download it every day.

The certificate hasn't been flagged:-) I have it working on my other iPhone. If you remove the certificate and reinstall it... It might make you reactivate?? Not sure on that one. The server has been going down a lot lately and you can't activate when server is down. Your best bet is to check if the server is up before trying. If you go to (siriport.ru/forum/siriport-ru-server-status.php) you can check status of the server to help you time your activation and not go crazy by it not working because the server is down. Good luck!!

Why is everyone so naive saying Siriport isn't a proxy server?

Of course it is! You wouldn't need to worry about their "Server" being up to connect if it wasn't a proxy and connecting directly to Apple! C'mon people use some brain power without believing the hype

Any ideas on how to successfully uninstall SiriPort out there without being stuck in Safe Mode? Cheers.

Hi, I'm facing the same problems as kevin (see above) could anyone give any advice on how to safely remove siriport without getting stuck in safe mode, ive reinstalled siri but my phone is very slow and i cant access certain things, after i removed siriport i tried doing a restore though itunes and it wouldnt let me and gave me error 21 message, if i leave siri installed and try a restore would that work ok ? any help is appreciated.

I have created a tutorial that makes putting Siriport on your iPhone a bit easier. I ended up doing this process three times once I had done it successfully once to see if there was one way to do it that was better than another. Listed below are the instructions, step-by-step, and a video with additional information and a better visual to follow.

Things you need to make this work:
    Jailbroken iPhone 4 3GS or 3G
iFile (paid app but available for free at repo- cydia.xsellize. c om)
    Siriport (Repo- repo.siriport.ru)

This is how you get Siriport to work:

    1. Install this certificate: siriport.ru/1.crt (you do this by typing that address into safari on your iPhone and installing the certificate when prompted)

    2. Add repo.siriport.ru in cydia and install Siriport for whatever iOS you are using. This file is very large, WiFi recommended. Once Siriport is installed you should be forced to respring your device.

    3. Using ifile or a similar program, go to var/mobile/library/preferences find the file named com.apple.assistant.plist and press the blue circle for more options.

    4. Go down to the permission section (user, group, world) and make sure they are all set to read, write. Save the setting.

    5. Go to Settings>General and turn off Siri

    6. Reboot (not respring)

    7. Go to settings and turn on Siri

    8. Press and hold your home button until Siri pops up. Say "Hello Siri". Odds are that she will give you an error. Something to the effect of "I'm sorry, but I can't take any requests right now". Talk to Siri every couple of minutes (at any interval) until Siri works. THIS IS THE STEP WHERE MOST OF THE PEOPLE GIVE UP. Please, have patience and you will have Siri running.

You can check the status of the Siriport server at this web address:
    SiriPort.Ru - Server Status

    9. If the server is overloaded and it will not giving you a working key, delete your assistant.plist file, go to settings and turn off Siri, shut off your device then turn it back on. Turn Siri on and try activating Siri again. I have personally used this method 3 times. Activation times varied from 5 minutes to 6+ hours. It is not a fast method, but it is a free method for getting Siri on your i-device.

    Good Luck and happy jailbreaking.

Yes, indeed. It can take quite some time to get the initial Siri response. Don't give up. It's well worth it when you get it working. I would also recommend you downloading the com.apple.assistant.plist file to your computer to keep as a backup should you ever have to restore your phone. It prevents you from having to get another token.

I'd recommend trying it during slower times. On the weekends, it's almost impossible to get working. During weekdays (especially at night time) there is less of a load on their server and your probability of getting it working is MUCH better.

You can check the status of the server here: SiriPort.Ru - Server Status

Anything under 1000 means a very low-load. Anything over 2500 and you're probably not going to get it working.
