Dock Starburst Positioning

Is there any way to move the position of the starburst to a more accessible area or perhaps enlarge the area of activation? I'm grabbing one of those Otter Boxes and still want access to the dock.

There is no option right now,
the only way would be if some one could code a new version.

Ahh, I was wondering how hard it would be to change that part of the code, but I am guessing difficult. Is there a good alternative? The original version of the dock would have been great with that one scrolling menu row.
