Hacking games?

I've seen a little bit about this on youtube and what not but mostly from places I wouldn't normally trust, aka certain cydia repos... My question is how does one hack or modify a game on the iphone to give the player infinite life or money or skills or whatever else? Like say Infinity Blade for example, what would I do with the files via ssh (I'm assuming that's how it gets hacked and changed) unless there's a "Cheat Engine" app for iphone that I don't know about...lol which I'm pretty sure there isn't.

For most of the apps, you can just edit some plain text files.

I'm actually making a game hacking team called iGameHacks, were on twitter & I'm about to release a paths hack for Bloons TD4, if I can get some assistance with my postinst & postrm files for the deb lol.

But for more games then stated, they actually edit the hex in the game file, that of which I know minimal knowledge.

Well I was wondering, if you didn't mind asking someone on your team or give me a name/link to message them, I was wanting to ask if it is usually just straight searching for the specific number in hex in files for a game, and changing it to what I want it to be?

Thanks in advance... Also, if you want another member for your team, I'd be willing to learn, help, and hack for you all.

Well I'm the only one right now lol.

You would need to get a specific HEX editor that can show you values of strings, not just character conversations.

I.e: AC56BBBB | ....$?85/cEeap....

Lol it needs to show you a list of known addresses.

I honestly dont know if that's apart of a HEX editor I used to use when I hacked SOCOM: U.S NAVY Seals or we imported an address table or something.

But the actual changing of the hex: yupp that's all you need to do, find what makes the value and 0 it to freeze it or increase it to add starting values or more points per.

Most of the hacks in Cydia are in sources I'm not allowed to post on this forum, as they will be censored, and i will probably get a warning/ban, so I guess I can't help you there, but if you find instructions on hacking the game online, keep this in mind;

Most(99% of them) hacks involve editing a text file which stores values like weapon damage, cash, scores, experience, etc.
To make sure you dont mess up your whole phone;
1. Don't run any files(on your computer) which claim to hack your game. Chances are pretty good they don't. You have to do it yourself by editing a text file.
2. Make sure the file is in /var/mobile/applications
3. Make a backup of the file before you edit it.

You can still mess up your game if you do this(which is why you backed it up, right?), but you won't get tricked into installing a virus.

actually I'm kind of stuck right now, I'm trying to figure out what to edit in the save file for The Quest game and I hit a wall... no matter what type of numbers I search for (hex, 8bit signed/unsigned, 16bit, 32 bit, ect) in hex workshop, I just can't find any stats or health or anything.....not even gold
