So I was wandering if anyone could offer a quick breakdown of how winterboard works. I imagine the OS is "detoured" to available files in the theme if their available. Or something of the sort. Just hopin someone could offer a little more insight for me. Thanks in advance.
I'm a noob too and already asked that question, I didn't get much replies and usefull tips (accept one person I contacted in PM he helped me out with sth)
The best tip is just install a couple of themes and see what they change, see what comes in the package and what you can 'check'..
Winterboard works by (as you say) diverting the OS to the themes folder instead of grabbing the images out of their proper directory ie. Springboard.app
Most of the UI can be themed, as the post above says you'll need to get a fairly complete theme to see what can and cant be themed.
Would you like more detail? Or is this not what you wanted to know?

So are the replacement files loaded temporarily into the app or just redirected. Also can you redirect any files, like plist or strings. What are the limitations. And i see you can mod native apps, like the phone and messages. Can you theme basic images from third party apps. And lastly, can you redirect a strings file or plist file that contains app settings for the app. Thanks in advance.
