Mobile Safari default color

hey ive been into doing my own themeing/editing and i cant figure out how to change the address/menu bar color on mobile safari. i tried changeing the banner.png and default.png files. after changing the banner, nothing happened. changing the default.png file however changed the screen that shows up when you open the browser but then it switches right back to the default blue. all i wanna do is change safari's color.

get dark safari from cydia. that seems to have pretty much everything covered
