    Default SMS emoji alternative help

    Hi Folks,

So I need to be able to include an emoji-like character in sms messages but only when sending messages between two specific iphones running 4.2.1. However, I want to use a non-standard character.

I've tried simply cutting and pasting small .png files into sms but these just end up looking crappy with their own little bubble - ie: you cannot include these images into a sentence without it splitting the speech bubble.

So my options have become limited. Either I can export the Emoji.artwork file, edit one of the .pngs and then repackage and place on both phones. Alternatively, I can modify a font to include the symbol of choice and import it into both iPhones.

The difficulty is that there are no .artwork conversion tools that will work with this specific file on 4.2.1 (that I'm aware of..and I've searched a lot - I've also used iOS-artwork.py but it doesn't work with these emoji files). Secondly, I'm not totally sure if I can modify a font and then use it from within sms. I've checked available apps without success.

Can anyone help - surely there's a way to have a single emoji-like character in sms between two specific phones ....any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Best,

    Kal
